HOSTESS COACHING

The main objective of each Party you conduct is to replace that Party with one or more Parties.  Finding new Consultants to build your Team is next and last but not least, Sales.

After you have decided on a date for a Party one of the first things you should do is set a Sales Goal with your Hostess.  Each Party should be at least $250.00 with one Party Booking (one Guest agreeing to host a Party of her own) to qualify for 20% of the Party Sales including outside orders. If there is no Booking or the sales is below $250.00 the Hostess will qualify for 15%. You should ensure each Hostess is aware of this because the success of your Party rest on her knowing this.

Think about  this, each time a Hostess brings her friends together she is giving you an opportunity to BOOK, RECRUIT and SELL and to top it off she even sells for you taking outside orders. Could one ask for more? Make the most of each Party, BOOK, RECRUIT and SELL to build your business.

Now that you know the Party is the heart and soul of your business, your goal is to conduct great Parties and a great Party begins with great Hostess Coaching which is preparing your Hostess to ensure her Party is successful in Bookings, Recruiting and Sales.

HOSTESS PACKAGE

Once your Hostess agrees to Host a Party for you the first thing you should do is give her a "HOSTESS PACKAGE" which should include:

  • 2 or 3 Hostess Guest Lists for her to list the names and addresses of the people she would like to attend the Party.
  • 5 Catalogs and at least 10 order forms for her to get outside orders from those that won't be able to attend the Party.
  • Business opportunity flyer to encourage her to think about joining the business and handouts for those not attending.
  • A few Invitations for personal delivery.
  • A Hostess Attendance Checklist  [see it here..print this out]

SETTING A DATE FOR THE PARTY

Prior to giving her the Hostess Package a date should be set for her Party. If she's hesitant to commit to a date for whatever reason, suggest a tentative date with the understanding that if it  is necessary it can be changed. A tentative date is better than no date at all. Until you have a date and a completed Guest List you don't have a Party Booked. Yes, a Hostess can email her friends but you must have and Guest List and mail invitations.

HERE'S ANOTHER GREAT REASON WHY YOU SHOULD GET A LIST.

You can enter those names and addresses in your computer Database/File to contact them in the future for orders and Party Bookings . You won't be a stranger then, so it will be easy to get orders and Party Bookings.

Each Party should be at least two weeks ahead, one week is not enough and going beyond two weeks is too far out. Your Hostess could loose her enthusiasm resulting in a cancellation. Talking about cancellations, it will happen and the best way to handle that is to postpone the Party for a later date but try not to have a  Hostess cancel on you, instead try to reschedule.

OK, you have given your prospective Hostess her package for her to complete the Guest List and return it to you as quickly as possible.

It is very important you get the Guests List because you'll have to mail an invitation to each person on the list at least ten days before the Party. Immediately after you mail the invitations contact your Hostess to let her know they are in the mail. You'll discover it's at that point that your Hostess really get serious about her Party. Why? She's now committed because the invitations are out.    REMEMBER: Until the invitations are in the mail you don't have a Party Booked.

At the time that you present your Hostess the Package you should find out from her what items she would like as "HOSTESS GIFTS" to determine how much sales will be needed for her to qualify for her Gifts.

Let's assume she wants $100.00 in products, you should let her know we will need a minimum of $500.00 in sales with one or more Bookings. Note it's we, you are now making her your Partner. If it's necessary, reassure her that you will do your best to ensure that she receives the Gifts she wants and then proceed to write her Gifts at the bottom of the Guest List. This is very important, later it will serve as a reminder to your Hostess as to what the Sales Goal for her Party is and that will will certainly have a bearing on how much is sold.

Once that is out the way, go over the contents of the Guest package with her explaining the purpose of each item. Ask her to use the Catalogs to get outside Orders from those friends that won't be able to attend and anyone else she can think of.

Once you get that across to your Hostess she will get outside orders and don't be surprised if she tries to get  $500.00 in sales by herself. That is why it is so important that you get her to select her Gifts in advance to establish a Sales goal that will have to be met. Achieving this goal will result in you earning $200.00 on that Party, not bad for a few hours work.

So the invitations are out, the count down to your Party is on, what do you do in the mean time? Stay in touch with your Hostess without being a nuisance. Be excited about her Party whenever you call her because you want her to be excited and she will get excited if you are excited. Find out if she has any questions, how things are coming along with the outside orders and if she heard from any of her friends that the invitations were sent to. If you haven't already done so you should discuss what she should serve her Guests. Some Hostesses will want put on a big spread, but encourage her to have light refreshments like Chips and Salsa, Veggies and Dips, Punch and water  to keep the cost down.

Don't have her going to any great expense because when you ask her Guests on the day of the Party to host a Party of their own they may hesitate because they'll assume they will have to put on a big spread like her.
